Playa del Carabassi

- ✓ Lifeguards (July–August)
- ✓ Beach bar
- ✓ Showers
- ✓ Toilets
A seven-kilometre wild beach with protected sand dunes and crystal-clear water — the closest major beach to Gran Alacant. The sandy bottom is flat and gradual, reaching just 1.5 metres depth at 80 metres from shore, making it ideal for young swimmers. Water visibility often reaches 8–10 metres. Lifeguards are on duty every day in July and August from 10:00 to 19:00. A small beach bar (chiringuito) sells drinks and ice cream near the main entrance. There is no natural shade on the beach, so bring a parasol.
Playa Levante (Santa Pola)

- ✓ Lifeguards (all summer)
- ✓ Restaurants
- ✓ Equipment hire
- ✓ Accessible entry
- ✓ Showers
- ✓ Toilets
The nearest town beach in Santa Pola, equipped with everything a family might need. The seafloor is soft sand with no rocks, staying shallow for a long distance — excellent for toddlers and non-swimmers. Restaurants and cafés line the adjacent promenade. Lifeguards are on duty throughout the whole summer season. The beach is fully adapted for wheelchair users, including a water-entry ramp. Blue Flag certified in 2026.
Playa Varadero (Santa Pola)

- ✓ Lifeguards (July–August)
- ✓ Bars
- ✓ Showers
A quieter town beach on the north side of the Santa Pola fishing harbour, consistently less crowded than Levante. The views of colourful fishing boats add a local character you will not find at busier tourist beaches. The sandy bottom is clean, with a gentle slope. At low tide you can walk along the shoreline and collect shells. The beach sits right next to the promenade, making a stroll to the local market or harbour an easy after-swim option.
Cala de la Mosca

- ✓ No facilities
- ✓ Natural rock formations
A small, wild cove tucked into the cliffs between Gran Alacant and Cabo de Santa Pola. The water here is exceptionally clear, with visibility of 8–12 metres and rich underwater life including wrasse, bream, and octopus — making it the best snorkelling spot within a short drive of the apartment. The 10-minute walk from the roadside parking adds to its secluded feel. No toilets, bars, or lifeguards — bring everything you need. Not recommended for young children due to the rocky entry.
El Pinet Beach (La Marina)

- ✓ Seasonal bar
- ✓ Showers
- ✓ Large parking
A long, wild beach beside the La Mata and La Marina lagoon estuary. Stronger onshore winds make it the favourite spot for windsurfers and kitesurfers in the area, while the natural landscape draws visitors who want to escape the crowds entirely. The beach sits within a protected nature area — behind the dunes stretches a reserve with characteristic coastal vegetation. Wide and consistently uncrowded even in August.
Tabarca — Marine Nature Reserve

- ✓ Island restaurants
- ✓ Snorkelling
- ✓ Diving
- ✓ Car-free island
Spain's smallest inhabited island, 25 minutes by ferry from Santa Pola. The waters around Tabarca form Spain's first Marine Nature Reserve, declared in 1986 — water visibility regularly reaches 15–20 metres, and the marine life is the richest on the whole Costa Blanca. The island is completely car-free, with a small village, a 18th-century fortress wall, and several restaurants serving fresh seafood. A full-day trip combining snorkelling, swimming, and lunch is the classic way to experience Tabarca.
Guardamar del Segura Beaches

- ✓ Lifeguards (all summer)
- ✓ Restaurants
- ✓ Showers
- ✓ Toilets
- ✓ Playground
Several kilometres of wide, fine-sand beaches backed by a planted pine forest that provides natural shade — one of the longest natural beach stretches on the Costa Blanca. The gradual sandy entry is perfect for young children, and you can often see shoals of small fish swimming right at the shoreline. Year-round tourist facilities include family restaurants a short walk away and a full-length promenade. Blue Flag certified. The nearby Dune Park (Parque de las Dunas) adds a unique nature walk with prehistoric ruins.
