What is the history of Terra Mitica and what makes this park special?
Terra Mitica opened in July 2000 as the flagship tourism project for the Benidorm region on the Costa Blanca. The park covers an area of over 100,000 square metres and from the very beginning stood out with its unique thematic concept based on the civilisations of the ancient Mediterranean. Unlike typical amusement parks, Terra Mitica offers not only mechanical attractions but also meticulously recreated architecture, theatrical scenography and immersive cultural experiences. The park has undergone several modernisations and investments, including the addition of the mega coaster Titanide in 2015, which became the park's flagship attraction and one of the fastest roller coasters in Spain.
One of the distinguishing elements of Terra Mitica is the themed shows and spectacles that take place several times daily across different zones of the park. Visitors can watch reconstructions of gladiatorial combat in the Roman amphitheatre, dance and music performances inspired by ancient Egypt, and interactive mythological presentations in the Greece zone. During summer season there are also evening fireworks displays and light shows that provide a spectacular end to the day at the park. These additional cultural attractions make Terra Mitica something more than a standard amusement park.

What to eat at Terra Mitica and is it worth bringing your own food?
Terra Mitica has over a dozen themed restaurants and bars, each reflecting the style of its zone. In the Egypt zone we recommend the restaurant with kebabs and falafels, and in the Rome zone the pizzas and pastas. Park dining is usually more expensive than outside the park, so check current menus and consider bringing water in an allowed container, especially on hot summer days.
A good solution for families is to use the picnic area near the car park, where you can eat your own meal before or after visiting the park. Inside the park it is worth bringing small snacks and energy bars. During peak season restaurants can have 20-30 minute queues at lunchtime (13:00-15:00), so plan your meal outside peak hours.
